How it's made

Slow, cold and a little unpredictable

  1. Scrunch

    A washed, natural-fiber blank gets folded, twisted or crumpled. The fold decides the shape of the pattern.

  2. Ice & powder

    It's buried under ice, then dusted with powdered dye. Nothing is mixed ahead of time.

  3. The slow melt

    As the ice melts, dye trickles through the folds and splits into hidden colors. This takes about a day.

  4. Rinse & reveal

    Rinse, wash, and unfold. It's the best part: even I don't know what I'll get.

What I can dye

Dye bonds with plant and animal fibers, so anything natural is fair game: tees, hoodies, dresses, socks, totes, bandanas, pillowcases, baby clothes…

Keep it bright

  • Wash cold, inside out.
  • Wash it alone the first time or two.
  • Hang dry or tumble low, out of harsh sun.
  • Skip bleach and brightening detergents.

Made by hand, one melt at a time

I started dyeing shirts for fun and never stopped. There's something magic about burying a plain white tee in ice and coming back the next day to colors I never planned.

Everything is dyed in small batches with fiber-reactive dyes, so the color is part of the fabric, not painted on top. Every piece is a true one-of-one.

Good questions

FAQ

What sizes do you make?

Any size, from baby clothes to 4XL and up. The ready-made pieces in the shop are mediums and larges. If you want one in another size, hit "Design one like it" and I'll dye you your own.

How long does a custom piece take?

Usually 1–2 weeks from when we lock in the design. The dye itself needs about a day to melt and set, and then it gets rinsed, washed and dried.

Will mine look exactly like the Dye Lab preview?

Nope, and that's the fun of it! The preview shows the colors, fold and vibe. Real ice melts however it wants, so your piece will be unique.

Can I send you my own shirt?

Yes, as long as it's a natural fiber like cotton, linen, hemp, bamboo, rayon or silk. Blends come out faded and vintage-looking. Please wash it first and pick "I'll send my own" in the Dye Lab.

How do I pay?

Nothing is charged when you send a concept. Once we agree on a design and a price, I'll send you a secure payment link.

Will the color fade?

Fiber-reactive dye bonds to the fabric, so it stays bright. Follow the care guide (cold wash, no bleach) and it'll last for years.
